
Ed Szrejter - 9th Dan - USJA Retired Executive Director
Coach of USJA National Training Center with 247 members Former USJA Executive Director Szrejter Sensei began Judo a half-century ago and studied in Korea, in Japan under Nakano, Hamada, and Kotani Sensei, under Ishikawa Sensei in America, under Ackermann Sensei in Luxembourg, and under Abe Sensei of Japan while in Belgium. He has taught Judo throughout the United States and in Luxembourg, Vietnam, and South Africa. During his competitive years he earned medals in tournaments in Japan and America and was an All-Marine Championship medallist. Szrejter Sensei was for many years a National Referee and started many clubs. He was Judo Manager for Olympic Festivals and for American teams to Europe and also officiated at the Atlanta Olympics. A Master Coach and Examiner and National Kata Instructor, he currently is Judo Coach of the Air Force Academy in Colorado and serves. He recently developed a new USJA-Board approved kata, Renraku no Kata—the kata of combinations, which has become very popular.
